In Memory... Jerry Meers
Our founder, mentor, father and friend passed in 2012, but Jerry Meers’ moral standards, integrity and values remain the core of our company.
Jerry graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in 1971. He was a passionate teacher and football coach and touched many students’ lives. Jerry was an entrepreneur, and his love for cotton and agriculture led to the creation of his companies in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s: Meers Pest Solutions, Great Plains Chemicals and Fumigation Services, Meers Cotton Service, and Meers Express.
Due to Jerry’s commitment to excellence, he was called to serve on the following boards: American Museum of Agriculture, South Plains Food Bank, Breedlove Foods, Texas Pest Control Association, Lubbock County Agriculture, and Gilbert Herrera Evangelistic Association.
He served on the governor appointed Texas Community Nutritional Task Force. Jerry also had the honor to be appointed to the Texas Department of Agriculture Advisory Board.
Meet The President... Kyle Meers
Kyle Meers continues his dad’s legacy as president of Meers Enterprises, Inc. Working closely with his father since childhood, he has become a key figure in the continued growth and success of Meers Enterprises, Inc.
Kyle started at Texas Tech University in the Business College, but then found his interest was truly in the family business and moved to the Department of Entomology, graduating from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Entomology in 1993. Like his father, he has a love of agriculture and the cotton industry and has a set of formidable goals to keep Meers growing successfully.
Kyle’s progressive approach to the newest technology and equipment available in today’s market has continued to enhance our services, allowing our customers to have the results of observation, treatment and services immediately. Kyle’s honesty, integrity and involvement in his community have allowed our company to move forward in today’s market, and maintain the heart of our company as Jerry and Karen began many years before.
Kyle has been a member of many industry related boards and organizations, such as the Lubbock Pest Control Association, Texas Pest Control Association, Lubbock County Ag Committee, and others.
He has a love for his family, employees and community driven by his love of Christ.
